Oswald Richard is Richie's father. In "Break," Richie speaks fondly of his dad and utilises his journal to learn some exercise techniques. This journal however is his special Luftwaffe training manual, the significance of which is completely lost on him. Oswald allegedly travelled in some very strange circles, mainly due to having one leg shorter than the other. He met the woman who would be Richie's mother during the Second World War, had sex with her for about seven minutes, then left leaving her pregnant.
